The Human-Wildlife Co-existence Research Network for Africa is an inclusive stakeholder-led initiative, therefore, its membership base is in constant expansion. Network members include human-wildlife researchers and experts, NGO workers and wildlife managers based in the region. If you are interested in our work and your profile fits this description, please consider joining the Network. There are several benefits to becoming a member of the HWCRN, however, membership also involves a number of responsibilities you should be aware of.

  • HWCRN members receive the following benefits:

    1) Access to a quarterly HWCRN newsletter

    2) Access to HWCRN expert webinars

    3) Access to the HWCRN community, including facilitated identification and access to potential collaborators across the continent. Indeed, practice/management stakeholders will have direct access to academics and can ask for science-based solutions, academics will have access to conflict managers to identify urgent applied research questions.

    4) Access to new knowledge on human-wildlife conflict (i.e. from scientific research findings and practical perspectives across the continent we will be sharing with the Network)

  • HWCRN membership involves the following responsibilities for every member:

    1) Knowledge and expertise sharing, including of emerging conflict experience and challenges (using the network’s platform),

    2) Post emerging research questions on conflict management and policy solutions in your respective country chapter

    3) Sharing information on latest developments and opportunities for network members

    4) Dedicate time to participate in webinars or newsletter

    5) Support network expansion efforts, connecting HWCRN secretariat with relevant stakeholders

    6) Support on research projects, as appropriate

    7) Participate in grant applications and fundraising campaigns to support your country’s chapter activities,
